Futures Day Oct. 4th Volunteers Needed

Wanted: People Who are Passionate about Their Careers!  Do you love your job? Are you enthusiastic about sharing your career with others?  If so, you are cordially invited to participate in Revere High School’s annual Futures Day on Wednesday, October 4th.  On Futures Day, our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students learn about various careers to help them start thinking about and planning for (you guessed it!) their futures! This year’s Futures Day has been revamped from the previous years’ format to expose students to a wider range of career options and be more interactive and engaging.  We are seeking volunteers to discuss their occupations in a panel discussion format. These volunteers would be part of a panel with others in the same industry or career cluster.  Each panelist will be asked to share what inspired them to go into that field, interesting job experiences, and participate in a Q & A session.  No formal presentation will be needed, although bringing visuals related to y

RHS Open House, EOC Reports, and PLC Info

Good afternoon Parents, Students, Families, and Guardians of Revere High School, Thank you all for such a wonderful start to the 2023-24 school year. The positive energy the students and staff have brought back into the building is impressive. While the school year is only five days old, we are already running at full speed. Last week, we had the chance to meet with our students to talk about their goals, positive decision-making, and the critical steps that happen during specific grade-level years. You can see our Google SlideShow presentation here . This week, we have an opportunity to meet some of you and to share information about how your student performed on the Ohio State End of Course Exams and 8th-grade State Tests. On Wednesday, August 30th, we will distribute the parent reports to our students around 8:30 AM. Please ask to see these reports, look over them with your student, and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. On Thursday, August 31st, RHS will

Great First Day and Student Pick Up Reminder

Thank you all for making the first day of the 2023-24 school year a HUGE success!!! Our students did a fantastic job navigating their schedules and meeting all their teachers. Since we share the same dismissal time and bus routes with the middle school, we released our students a few minutes early so that they could find their buses and work out the logistics of being picked up after school. I want to remind everyone to follow our   Pick-up Procedure   to keep traffic flowing and vehicles off the streets waiting to pick up students.  Here are a few helpful hints: 1) If you are arriving early to pick up, please pull up as far as you can on the west side of the building (back entrance). This gives more space for more cars. 2) Please do not pick up in the front of the building. This inevitably will cause a backup on Everett. 3) While we dismiss at 2:37, most traffic and buses are cleared by 2:50. It may be a wise option to wait to pick up until after 2:50 to avoid traffic and to let the p

Welcome back, RHS!!! Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 22nd, is the first day of school. I am so excited to see all our students in the classes of '24, '25, '26, and '27 back in the halls. While CVCC does not start until Wednesday, we will run an adjusted schedule on the first day since all students will have their school photos taken. We hope to see everyone here to start the day. Here are some quick logistics for the first day. 1) Report to Your Records Room First - Start the day in your records room and put your things in your locker before our assembly. Teachers will have your locker assignment and combinations if you have forgotten them. 2) All School Assembly Kicks Off the New Year  3) School Pictures for Everyone - All students will have their pictures taken in the aux gym. We will split the groups into Seniors/Juniors and Sophomores/Freshmen.  4) Freshmen and New-to-Revere iPads - If you are a freshman or new-to-Revere and still need your iPad, you can pick it up during

Commencement Date Finalized and FroshFest Parent Info

Hello RHS Families, Thank you to all of our student ambassadors, student council members, and volunteers for making all of our incoming freshmen, new-to-Revere students, and families feel welcome during FroshFest on Wednesday, August 16th. If you could not attend the Parent Information Session, I have attached a link to our  FroshFest 2023-24 Presentation .  After much discussion and careful consideration, we have finalized the date and location of our RHS Class of 2024 Commencement. Due to the uncertainty of the Lock 3 construction project, the timing of Memorial Day weekend, and the OHSSA Track & Field tournaments, we have decided that commencement will occur on  Thursday, May 23rd, at 7:00 PM on the high school campus . Thank you all in advance for understanding our need to pivot so that we can celebrate our graduates with the least amount of obstacles. Respectfully, Andy Peltz

August 1st RHS Family Message

August 1, 2023 Happy August, Revere High School!!! I am so excited for the 2023-24 school year. We have so many amazing opportunities planned for our students and families. On June 28th, I emailed a list of important dates and general information regarding events that kick off the school year. If you are new to us or have misplaced the email, you can always find my parent/family communication archived at https://minutemenprincipal.blogspot.com/ As families are starting to prepare for the first day of school, buying supplies, and shopping for clothes, I want to share with you a few things. Drawstring bags are allowed in class, but backpacks are not - Revere High School is growing in numbers, and space is at a premium. Since many of our classes will be near capacity, there is not enough space for students to bring large, bulky bags to each class. Students may use a drawstring bag to help keep items organized, but they will be encouraged to keep most of their supplies in their locker
