Futures Day Oct. 4th Volunteers Needed

Wanted: People Who are Passionate about Their Careers!

Do you love your job? Are you enthusiastic about sharing your career with others?  If so, you are cordially invited to participate in Revere High School’s annual Futures Day on Wednesday, October 4th.

On Futures Day, our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students learn about various careers to help them start thinking about and planning for (you guessed it!) their futures! This year’s Futures Day has been revamped from the previous years’ format to expose students to a wider range of career options and be more interactive and engaging.  We are seeking volunteers to discuss their occupations in a panel discussion format. These volunteers would be part of a panel with others in the same industry or career cluster.  Each panelist will be asked to share what inspired them to go into that field, interesting job experiences, and participate in a Q & A session.  No formal presentation will be needed, although bringing visuals related to your job is always encouraged.

The day would begin with a catered lunch in the high school media center from 11:00-11:45. You would then be a member of a career panel. Beginning at 12:00 and ending at 2:30, we plan to have numerous speaker panels that students will rotate through every 30 minutes.

Please complete this survey by Friday, September 15th, to indicate your interest in being a panelist at  Revere High School’s Futures Day.  If you have any additional questions about Futures Day, please contact Principal Andrew Peltz at apeltz@revereschools.org  or Career Specialist Nancy Vondrak at nvondrak@revereschools.org or (330)523-3248.  Also, please feel free to share this information with anyone else who may be interested in our Futures Day.
