Futures Day
October 4, 2023
Good morning,
On October 4, 2023, Revere High School will host our annual Futures Day. The event's purpose is threefold: 1) to allow our seniors to explore post-secondary options, 2) to have our juniors, sophomores, and freshmen take the PSAT, and 3) to give our students a chance to connect with community members to learn about various careers.
Seniors: You are excused from Revere High School classes on October 4th. Use this time to explore colleges/universities, research internship/shadowing opportunities, and complete college applications.
Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen: We will run a special schedule (see below). You must be in your Testing Rooms by 8:00 a.m. with a charged iPad. We will have light snacks available in the cafeteria between 7:30 - 8:00.
Period | PRE-TEST | PSAT Check-In | PSAT | Lunch A | Lunch B | Lunch C | Rot. 1 | Rot. 2 | Rot. 3 | Rot. 4 | Rot. 5 | Return to Testing Room |
Time | 7:24 - 7:55 | 8:00 - 8:15 | 8:15 - 10:40 | 10:45 - 11:10 | 11:10 - 11:35 | 11:35 - 12:00 | 12:05 - 12:30 | 12:35 - 1:00 | 1:05 - 1:30 | 1:35 - 2:00 | 2:05 - 2:30 | 2:30 - 2:37 |
You will already have received an email from Mr. Faris with your Testing Room location. The test will take approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete. You are expected to stay in the room during the whole testing session. After the test, we will have this lunch schedule:
Grade Level | Student Lunch A | Student Lunch B | Student Lunch C |
10:45 - 11:10 | 11:10 - 11:35 | 11:35 - 12:00 |

10th Grade | Aux Gym - Games / Social Time | Cafeteria - Eating | Main Gym - Grade Level Meeting |
11th Grade | Main Gym - Grade Level Meeting | Aux Gym - Games / Social Time | Cafeteria - Eating |
Starting at noon, we will have five Career Panel rotation periods. You will have a Revere Career Passport sheet with the panels and room locations. You must attend all five sessions, and we want you to see at least one panel from three different career categories. A Revere staff member will mark which panel you attended in each session. At the end of the day, you must turn in your passport. We will use this to verify your attendance. As an extra incentive for you to participate in the Q&A portion of the panels, presenters can award students with raffle tickets for an ice cream reward.
Families and Students: Be prepared for the panels and plan your day. Review the list of careers we have available. Over 100 volunteers are giving of their time and experience! Futures Day is an excellent opportunity to learn about different jobs and connect with community members.
