Futures Day Logistics

 Futures Day 2022

October 12th

Here are the schedule and expectations for our upcoming Futures Day.

Seniors:

You are not required to attend school on October 12th. Please use this day to schedule your college visit, complete college applications, explore May internship opportunities, and/or join us for the afternoon Futures Day Career Cluster rotations.

Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors:

You must attend and stay the whole day from 7:34-2:37. The day will be broken into two sections: PSAT Testing and Futures Day Activities.

7:34 - 11:30 Students will take the PSAT. Most students will take their test in the Records Room, but some rooms will be reassigned. Freshmen will take an 8th/9th-grade version of the test. Sophomores and Juniors will take the actual PSAT, but only the Juniors will have their scores count towards National Merit Scholarship Program recognition.

11:30 - 12:30 Students will rotate through Lunch, Logistics, and Career Interest Survey.

See the rotation schedule below. We ask that all students bring their iPads to the sessions. Lunch will be in the cafeteria, the Logistics Meeting will be in the auditorium, and the Career Interest Survey will be in the main gym.

12:30 - 2:37 There are 4 sessions during this block. Each session will last approximately 30 minutes. We ask that all students bring their iPads to the sessions. All classes will attend a special session in the auditorium featuring local leaders and special guests: Freshmen - Session 1, Sophomores Session 2, and Juniors Session 3. For the other sessions, students can choose different Career Cluster Panels to visit (see options below). They will have the opportunity to meet community members from each field, learn more about the different careers, and ask any questions they may have. At the end of the final sessions, students will complete a quick survey identifying which sessions they visited and which careers they would like to learn more about.

Thank you to all our volunteers and staff members for making this day possible.
