March Vision of a Minuteman Award Pancake Breakfast

I wanted to start a new tradition at RHS. There are hundreds of students who have dedicated their lives to the fulfillment of the ideals listed under the Vision of a Minuteman. We value more than just academic, athletic, and creative attributes. Personal character and citizenship traits are equally important and should be celebrated. Starting today, we will host monthly Vision of a Minuteman Award Pancake Breakfasts honoring the efforts of our students. Teachers and staff members will have the opportunity to nominate our RHS students for an exemplary embodiment of one of the six VOM attributes: Confidence & Empathy, Creates Solutions, Learner's Mindset, Engages with a Purpose, Perseveres & Adapts, and Communicates Truth. Please help me congratulate these amazing young adults on living up to our most prized and valued expectations.

Paige G.

Amy Fagnilli (Yearbook)

Engages with Purpose

Paige is an absolute yearbook BEAST! She is incredibly dependable, motivated and creative. She is always one step ahead of where we need to be and without her, we'd lose momentum. Her design work is TOPS! And her firm but kind attitude when helping others in class is the perfect tone to encourage their best. I just adore this kid!!!

Katie N.

Emily Rion

Katie is creative, caring, thoughtful, and has demonstrated dedication/leadership through her work in Active Minds.

Lucas T.

Susan Sanders/Math

Engages with Purpose

Lucas has a kind and gentle soul, and is truly committed to learning with enthusiasm.

Sophia W.

Mr. Wido-Math

Perseveres & Adapts

I have had Sophia the past two years and she always brings a great attitude and work ethic to class. She tirelessly asks questions and works through problems, even when it is difficult. Before big assessments, Sophia almost always asks me for extra copies of study guides and really wants to know the in's and out's of why each solution works out mathematically. Day in and day out, Sophia is a pleasure to have in class and her attitude is much appreciated.

Brian L.

Mr. Wido-Math

Embodies Confidence & Empathy

Brian has made the adjustment to high school mathematics really well. He works through each problem diligently, and frequently goes above and beyond completing extra practice problems. Each day, Brian lights up my classroom discussion with his personality and deep questioning of each problem. He is not only confident on his solution, but encourages other students as well. Brian is a pleasure to have in class and works to make our classroom into a team environment.

Mollie G.

Joan Lyon- Global Cuisine

Perseveres & Adapts

Dear Molly,

You have been a student of mine since grade 6. You have inspired me and shown me confidence and empathy. You are an amazing young lady. I have watched you grow in confidence over the years. As I admire you now in high school, you have become a beautiful young lady who not only embodies empathy, but displays confidence, perseverance and adapts in any situation. Thank you for the sunshine to bring to me and the students at RHS.

Mrs. Lyon

Evelyn T.

Sarah Zustin

Demonstrates a Learner's Mindset

If I could pick one person who embodies all of the minuteman attributes it would be Evelyn Tucker. Evelyn is always kind, engaging, and ready to learn. She demonstrates a learners mindset on a day to day, ready to solve problems and create solutions in art class. With these attributes, Evelyn has grown immensely as an artist and as a student. It has been such a joy to get to know her as a person and have her in class over the past school year.

Kate W.

Repp/Ray

Engages with Purpose

Kate is an outstanding student, who works hard, and is a role model in the classroom. Recently, she has really begun to help her classmates learn and understand geometry. As students have questions and work in groups, Kate works to explain the concepts and does not just give her peers the answer. She wants others to learn and understand the material. She is kind and respectful. Often times, when students are confused they are turning to Kate for help knowing that she will assist with kindness and without judgement. She is truly a joy to have in the classroom!

Sarah F.

Dean Rahas

Engages with Purpose

Sarah is a very polite, respectful and hard working young lady. It's a pleasure to have her in my class.

Lucas T.

Maggie Bowers

Engages with Purpose

Lucas is extremely high achieving in class. But more than this, he consistently demonstrates an eagerness to learn and a willingness to help others. Lucas is a model student in his interactions with me and his peers, and I'm so proud of all he has accomplished this year! Great job, Lucas! Keep it up!

Mollie G.

Mr. Parry - Science

Demonstrates a Learner's Mindset

Mollie is an outstanding hard working student who has done an awesome job in Geology!

Ethan L.

Phil Heyn

Demonstrates a Learner's Mindset

After a slow start, Ethan has worked hard to bring up his grade and maintain a solid grade in American History. He has increased his participation via conversation and answers during class all while avoiding social pitfalls that sometimes consume his classmates.

Gavin L.

Phil Heyn

Embodies Confidence & Empathy

Always begins the day with a "hello" to myself and classmates. Very cooperative and helpful in class and with students who show a need. If anyone needs something or needs to borrow something, he is first to offer help. Standup young man!

Caroline G.

Mr. Getz - Math

Demonstrates a Learner's Mindset

Caroline arrives to class eager and prepared to learn each day. Her hard work and dedication to being a learner will ensure that she is successful in all areas of her life, not just the classroom.

Lauren D.

Mrs. Lyon - Family Consumer Science

Perseveres & Adapts

Dear Lauren,

It is my pleasure to nominate you for March's Vision of a Minuteman. You are kind, courteous, and friendly. You consistently demonstrate confidence in yourself and in others. You communicate the truth and are a leader in your own right. You definitely know how to persevere and adapt daily to finish the tasks at hand.
