October Reflection Letter

Good afternoon Students, Parents, and Guardians of Revere High School,

So much has happened since the start of the 2021-22 school year. Thirty-eight school days have passed since August 30th, and it is incredible to see how we have come together. I have enjoyed watching our students’ confidence grow as they navigate the halls and learn to balance their classes. Freshmen, you have begun to figure out what it takes to be a Revere High Minuteman, and it is great to see. Sophomores and juniors, it has been fantastic to see you step up as emerging leaders and begin to realize your immense potential. Seniors, your class and school spirit are outstanding! You should be proud of all that you have and will accomplish. Your class is a perfect blend of enjoying the moment but still focusing on your future. I wish that I had more than one year to spend with you before you leave these halls. We have taken the challenge of embodying the Vision of a Minuteman to heart, and the benefits are impressive. We have taken advantage of every one of the opportunities given to us over the past 38 days. We have Engaged with Purpose, Persevered and Adapted, Demonstrated a Learner’s Mindset, and most importantly, have done so with Confidence and Empathy. The students, staff, and families work together to make Revere High a successful school. Thank you!

While we have come very far, there is still so much more to go. One of the most incredible beauties of being in a school is having celebrations and checkpoints built within our calendar. We are approaching one of those milestones with the completion of the first quarter on Friday, October 29th. The end of each quarter allows us the chance to pause, reflect on the series of events that led us to this point in our classes, learn from both our successes and missteps, and most importantly, start fresh while still moving forward. The start of each quarter is a chance to reinvent ourselves and reimagine our futures. This opportunity is a gift. We must take advantage of it. You cannot change the past, but if you look back on all that we have accomplished in only 38 days, the possibilities are near endless for what is to come over the next 40 that takes us to the start of Winter Break. What do you plan to do with your next 40 days? Students, create your goal now, and together we, the students, staff, and families, will help you reach it. Parents and guardians, work with your kid to understand their goal and if there are obstacles, let us know so we can help you help them.

Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your 2021-22 school year journey. Let us build off the momentum we have started and continue the work. I am excited about the next 40 days and what they will bring. Let’s make it extraordinary.

Sincerely,

Mr. Andy Peltz, Principal Revere High School
