Start With Hello Week (Sept 20-24)

Next week, September 20-24, Revere SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) Promise Club will be presenting Start with Hello Week sponsored by Revere Schools Foundation. Start with Hello Week works to reduce social isolation and loneliness in the student body, especially as it has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. To celebrate this national event, we will have different themed activities for each day.

Monday - Hey Day: Students will be given name tags during third period and are encouraged to greet others by name throughout the entire day.

Tuesday - Random Acts of Kindness Day: We’re asking students to display random acts of kindness both at school and out in the community.

Wednesday - Wear Green Day: Green is the official color of Start with Hello Week and students across the country will be wearing green on this day.

Thursday - Social-Switch Up Day: We are asking students to, if they feel comfortable with it, sit with different people at lunch. Icebreaker prompts will be provided.

Friday - Note Day: There will be a smile wall in the cafeteria in which students are instructed to leave a message on a post-it note detailing something that made them smile that day.

Please encourage your students to participate in these activities, we hope it will help build a more inclusive community in the school and spark conversations about social isolation. If you want to follow along, we will be posting updates and experiences on our Instagram account, @revere_savepromise.

Thank you!
